The adventure begins outside the Costa Maya Port, where our guide will meet you to start the 70-minute transfer to Bacalar in an air-conditioned van. Upon arrival, we will board a modern and safe pontoon boat.
During the tour, you will navigate through the Emerald Cenote, the Pirates’ Channel, and Bird Island. After the boat ride, you will enjoy a traditional lunch at a restaurant overlooking the lagoon, with choices of ceviche, fish, or chicken.

Itinerary
Our guide will be waiting for you just outside the Costa Maya port holding an identifiable sign. Please make sure to disembark from your ship early to avoid delays and have enough time to enjoy the entire tour.
You will travel comfortably by road to Bacalar in a private or shared van. During the trip, you can admire the tropical jungle landscapes. We recommend bringing water and a light snack for the journey.
Upon arrival in Bacalar, we will board a spacious and shaded pontoon, perfect for relaxing as you navigate the Lagoon of Seven Colors. The captain and a bilingual guide will accompany you throughout the tour.
Enjoy a breathtaking view of the water's changing tones. This is an excellent spot for photos. Simply stunning!
Learn the history of the channel where pirates arrived centuries ago. Here, you can swim in shallow waters and observe the unique color contrasts of Bacalar.
Observe local and migratory birds in their natural habitat. This spot is perfect for nature and photography lovers. Out of respect for the ecosystem, disembarking on the island is not permitted.

The Costa Maya cruise terminal is a privately owned port complex operated directly by the cruise lines. Due to port regulations, local tour operators are not allowed to pick up guests, run excursions, or have representatives inside the port.
All excursions offered inside the port are managed exclusively by the cruise companies.
If you book a tour with Caribe Adventures, you will need to exit the port complex to meet our team. Your confirmation will include a detailed map and step-by-step directions to the exact meeting point. A Caribe Adventures representative will be waiting for you with a sign displaying your name.
Please note that local time in Mexico may differ from Miami, Florida. Your guide will inform you of the precise time you must return to the Costa Maya port to ensure a smooth and timely re-boarding of your ship.
Tour Start Time
As this is a private excursion, the starting time is flexible. We will coordinate the best departure time with you, always considering your ship’s docking schedule.
Please be prepared to begin the tour as soon as you reach the meeting point. We recommend using the restroom and changing clothes before leaving the ship.

- If your cruise ship cancels its stop in Costa Maya, your payment is fully refundable.
